As an online entrepreneur, regardless of your niche, you should implement an email marketing system into your business to communicate with your customers regularly.

Sending someone an email is an intimidating process for many marketers. 

You don’t want to come across as spammy or pushy because you know what it’s like to receive unwanted messages.

But when you run an online business, you must take the time and effort to build a list of subscribers you can lead in their journey and whose support will sustain you financially.

There is a high bar set for the value of email communications that enter many people’s email inboxes. 

Not only do you have to send content that will improve their life, but they expect you to maintain an ethical approach and build a personal bond with them, allowing them to feel comfortable trusting you.

 Unfortunately, for many individuals, creating and brainstorming email content is an overwhelming task that they often put off. 

If you feel as if you don’t have the time or even the talent to create consistent emails for your target audience, artificial intelligence (AI) can come to your rescue.

You can use this tool strategically to help nurture your readers, showing them how to eliminate their pain points and achieve their goals. 

It can assist you with the overall style and content and analyze and improve your efforts at specific technical issues, such as split test campaigns – or strategic ones, like monetizing your communications.

9 Types of Emails AI Can Create for You

One of the biggest problems marketers have with email marketing campaigns is not knowing what to send out. 

AI can quickly help you with a variety of slants and styles. 

For example, you can prompt AI like this:

“I’m in the weight loss niche, where I share advice about intermittent fasting. I have a list, but I don’t know what types of emails to send them. Can you help me?”

It will share ideas like your welcome email, getting-started advice, motivating success stories, tips and tricks, research, and more. 

But if you already know what kind of email you want to send, AI can also help you develop ideas for that.

Begin Your Email Marketing Campaign – Welcome Email

For example, if you want to write a welcome email, simply prompt:

“Write a heartfelt welcome email to my new subscribers who signed up for a free report called A Beginner’s Guide to Intermittent Fasting. I want them to feel comfortable contacting me and know I’ll send tips, advice, etc. Make it sincere.”

When AI returns the results, tweak it yourself or have it redirect anything you dislike until it has your voice and intended message. 

If you want the tone changed, you might tell AI to “make it more casual and friendly” or “make it more professional sounding.”

Email MarketingInformative Emails

Besides your initial welcome email, AI can help you create general informative emails. These are the tips and advice you send out regularly. 

In our example, it might be (according to AI):

  • Different Intermittent Fasting Protocols
  • Understanding Hunger and Fullness Signals
  • The Science Behind Intermittent Fasting
  • Meal Planning for Intermittent Fasting and so on

All you have to do is prompt it with,

“What are some informative email topics to send to this list.”

If you haven’t told it your list topic or niche, you can also plug that into the prompt.

An Email Marketing Series 

Ask AI to help you devise an entire series of emails, too. A series is the third type of email campaign AI can help with. Prompt AI like this:

“Give me some ideas for some email series I can do for this niche. Don’t give me the entire series, just the broad topics of the series.”

The results will be things like an Intermittent Fasting 101 Series covering the basics, 

  • a Success Stories series showing inspiring transformations, 
  • an Expert Interview series, 
  • a Recipe and Meal Plan series, 
  • one for Mindset and Motivation, or 
  • an Advanced Techniques series such as fasting for specific goals.

The fourth type of email you might use AI to brainstorm or write for you provides your subscribers some perks. 

For example, if you created some gated content for them, you might prompt AI like this:

“I want you to write an email to this list letting them know I have something for them that the public doesn’t get – private access content where they get to see a case study I created for the best IF diet plan for fast weight loss. Hype it up and make them feel exceptional for accessing this.”

AI will word it so that readers know they have exclusive access. 

Or, give them a subscriber-only discount, first dibs on a product, or a sneak peek at something you’re working on.

Email Marketing Newsletters

In the following email scenario, your AI tool can help you create newsletters. 

In a newsletter, you can have different sections of information. So prompt AI like this:

“I want to send out an email newsletter with various sections for subscribers of my Intermittent Fasting list. Come up with several sections and write the first one for me.”

It will include an outline that consists of the following: 

  • a welcome letter, 
  • featured blog post or summary, 
  • a success story, 
  • a recipe of the month (or week), 
  • a Q&A section, 
  • a Tips and Tricks section, 
  • Industry news or Community Highlights, 
  • recommended resources, 
  • upcoming challenge information, and 
  • a closing message.

It also writes the first part of the newsletter on your behalf. 

Now if you only want AI helping you brainstorm ideas for this (or any of these slants) and not write it all for you, you can prompt it like this:

“Give me an outline of an email newsletter with a variety of sections for subscribers of my Intermittent Fasting list.”

That way, you get the outline of what should go into it. 

Relationship Nurturing Email Marketing

The next type of email AI can help you nurture the relationship between yourself and your subscribers.

We want them to bond, trust, and feel comfortable with us. So let’s prompt AI like this:

“I want to send out an empathetic email to those struggling to lose weight and mention intermittent fasting in it. The purpose of the email is to build a loyal bond between us, so make it uplifting.”

It will return with a fantastic email that motivates and inspires your readers, giving them a feel-good attitude about you as their niche leader.

Cold List Recovery Email Marketing

You can also ask AI to help you recover a grown cold list.

It might be because you disappeared on them or because they aren’t responding to your messages anymore. 

You might prompt AI in one of two ways for these scenarios, such as:

“Write an email to my list of subscribers apologizing for disappearing on them, and reassure them that I’m here to serve their needs and will share lots of good information.”

Or,

“My subscriber list has grown cold, and I don’t know why. They aren’t opening my emails; if they do, they don’t convert. Write an email that warms them back up.”

In this case, AI’s message almost sounded like rekindling a romance, so we had to redirect it with the following:

“That sounds too romantic. Redo it, please,”

 And it then wrote a great email.

Holiday Promo Email Marketing 

Seasonal emails are a breeze using AI’s help. 

Many marketers leverage the feel-good holidays to connect with their list, so prompt AI like this:

“I want to send out an email to my subscribers around Christmas. What are some topics I can send out that will be well-received?”

It will give you ideas like:

  • healthy holiday recipe emails, 
  • tips for managing holiday indulgences, 
  • mindfulness and gratitude, 
  • maintaining consistency during the holidays with stress, 
  • food, etc., 
  • an email about holiday traditions, 
  • self-care, and more.

Then, you can pick whichever you like and prompt AI as follows:

“I like the one about tips for managing holiday indulgences. Please write that email to make the holiday cheerful and cozy.”

Email Marketing Milestone Recognition

Lastly, milestone emails are something AI can help you with. 

You’ll often see bloggers and marketers emailing their list about being in business for many years, achieving a milestone for success, and so on.

Prompt AI with instructions like this:

“I’ve just achieved a milestone of being a weight loss coach for 20 years. 

Write an email to my list about it so they know my level of expertise, commitment, and dedication to many more years of serving them ahead.”

If there’s any other type of email you come up with, you can always ask AI something like:

“I want my subscribers to know _____. How can you help me write an email that conveys that?”

Or,

“I aim to get my subscribers to become more loyal to me. How can you help me achieve that goal? Create an email that somehow fosters loyalty and tell me how.”

AI will deliver on your goals, but if you’re unhappy, ask it to do another.

AI Can Improve Your Email Marketing Open Rate with Smart Subject Lines

When it comes to email marketing, getting your emails through to the recipient’s inbox is the first obstacle you will face. 

You want to maintain a good delivery score by not spamming your subscribers or engaging in unethical behavior.

Email Open Rates

But once the email is in the inbox, you meet your second hurdle: getting the recipient to open the email. 

Achieving a great open rate is where many marketers fail to succeed.

Email Marketing Subject Lines 

They write dull email subject lines that do not attempt to get the recipient to open them.

You can ask AI for help improving your open rate in different ways. 

For example, you can give the AI tool your email subject line and ask for help writing a better one.

You might have a problem writing subject lines that are too long and not exciting. AI can write a concise email subject line so all characters appear in the inbox.

There are certain words and phrases that AI knows how to use that will work as power words or scarcity jargon that makes people want to open your email so they don’t miss out on anything important.

AI can help you slant your subject line better in many other ways. 

These include using a call to action, personalizing the subject line, piquing the recipient’s curiosity, and knowing what to avoid that may trigger spam filters.

Subject Line Improvement Examples

Let’s say you have an email about a coaching program you are launching where you only accept five clients to work with you for six weeks learning about intermittent fasting. 

You can feed that information to AI and tell it your current subject line, which might be something like: “Sign Up for My 6-Week Coaching Program.” 

Give the AI tool your subject line and the information and ask it to give you many different and better options. 

AI will come back with attention-grabbing subject lines like:

  •  Limited Spots Available: Join My Exclusive 6-Week Intermittent Fasting Coaching Program
  • Unlock Your Weight Loss Potential: Join My 6-Week Intermittent Fasting Coaching Program
  • Ready for a Transformation? Secure Your Spot in My Intermittent Fasting Coaching Program
  • Only 5 Spots Left: Enroll Now in My 6-Week Intermittent Fasting Coaching Program

All of these sound better than the original, boring subject line. 

You can also split-test the options it gives you to see which one performs better. 

Or, if you feel like these are too long, you can ask AI to: “Shorten them up.”

Then you get shorter ones like:

  • Limited Spots: Join My Exclusive 6-Week Coaching Program
  • Unlock Your Weight Loss Potential: Join Now
  • Act Fast: 5 Spots Left in My Coaching Program
  • Last Chance: Enroll in the 6-Week Intermittent Fasting Program

AI Excels At Email Marketing Personalization and Storytelling 

Personalization can be using your subscriber’s name in the subject line or body of the email, or it can be the insertion of your storylines into the email so that your readers feel a bond with you and can recognize your expertise and experience. 

If you want to share something but aren’t adept at writing emails, you can give AI the details and let it create the email for you. 

For example, you might prompt AI like this: 

“I want you to write a personalized email using storytelling about my journey to losing weight. I was always overweight as a kid, teased, and hopeless. Then I experimented with a variety of diets, causing me to gain and lose many pounds before finding intermittent fasting. I want readers to feel connected to me.” 

You want to make sure that you go through the email to ensure it has gotten all the facts correct and that the storytelling is in line with the kind of tone of voice that you would use when speaking to people. 

You’ll notice that it also includes motivation for your audience and a call to action to reach out. 

You can also feed AI an article or email you wrote and ask it to personalize the email with your own story.

AI will find a way to work it into your email for you at the right moment so that you can use it immediately. 

It will make it sound much better, too. 

And if you want a particular style, like humor, ask it to use that style!

Get AI to Help You with Split-Tested Email Marketing Campaigns

If you have emails that are not performing well for you, or you want to optimize those that are doing pretty well, you can feed the email to your AI tool and ask it to create a split-test version and tell you which element it’s testing and why.

Or, if you didn’t have an email at all but you knew you wanted to split test two versions against one another, you could instruct it with the original details listed earlier in this report about what kind of email you wanted it to create, and then add the prompt:

“I want you to create a split test version of the email you write, where we test one element against the other.” 

If you don’t give AI any specifications about what to split test, it will choose for you. 

In our example, it decided to split-test the subject line. 

You can also ask AI to write different versions that split test other elements, such as the length or formatting of the emails, the call to action, a strategy using or eliminating personalization, including different visual elements, etc.

If you are using email campaigns that you send to new subscribers regularly, you can continue having AI split test the email until it performs to the best of its ability.

AI Can Help Maximize Your Earnings with a Monetization Strategy

You can use AI to help you determine how to monetize your emails to your subscribers. If you don’t know how to monetize it, you can feed your email into AI and ask:

“I want to monetize that email. How can we do that?” 

It will give you ideas like affiliate marketing, promoting your products or services, using sponsored content or ads, etc. 

You can also use AI to write your promotional emails.

Or, if you use a strategy such as affiliate marketing, you can rely on AI by asking,

“What type of product should I promote in this email?”

and then, 

“Add a promotional paragraph where I can link to the product.”


Cross-Selling Emails 

AI can help you come up with good cross-selling opportunities, too. 

If you ask AI what good cross-selling options are for this niche example, it will advise you to promote recipe books or meal plans, fitness equipment, supplements, wellness apps and tracking tools, and kitchen gadgets and utensils. 

Plus, AI can help improve the conversions you are getting by writing your promotion for you, which will include the product’s benefits and delivering a compelling call to action that converts. 

Over-Relying On AI

AI doesn’t serve as a replacement for you as a niche leader. 

Many people rely on it too heavily to take their place and do all of the work for them without any oversight. 

True leaders would never forfeit their ability to communicate with their audience and serve their needs directly.

Regarding your email marketing strategy, your goals should be to serve your audience and be rewarded financially. 

To succeed with those two goals, you can use AI to shortcut the brainstorming process or creativity involved and even have it put your thoughts into professionally written communications for your subscribers. 

There’s no shame in needing a tool like this to help you craft words if you are not a professional writer. 

Benefits of Using AI for Email Marketing

If you don’t take an unethical route and double-check the information AI creates for your audience, it’s a cost-effective way to improve your messaging to your target audience without breaking the bank. 

What’s odd to many is that AI can inject more of a human element that provides readers empathy and motivation than some humans can do with their writing. 

Because many humans were taught in school to write without personalization or emotion, they have carried that through to their careers, which can sometimes fail to inspire their subscribers.
